When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.

This is me wearing my self-made copy of Queen Elizabeth's "Pelican" portrait gown after Nicholas Hilliard's painting from 1575. It took me five to six months to make in 2005.
The whole outfit weights 44 pounds with all the period undergarments, but due to the use of all natural fabrics it's extremely comfortable to wear (I wore it in the snow and didn't freeze and I wore it in the sun on a bright summer day and didn't sweat more than any other person). I'm exceptionally proud of that costume. Daily DeviationGiven 2009-01-29Queen Elizabeth I, the third.. by ~Noergli. A gown of Elizabeth I after Nicholas Hilliard's "Pelican" portrait from 1575, so called because Elizabeth had worn the pelican pendant to symbolize her love for her subjects. The artist not only made the elaborate gown based on Hilliard's painting, but also made the pelican pendant that she finished with silver leaf and rhinestones. This garment weighs a total of 44 lbs! But to make it short: The filigrees are, actually, brass christmas ribbon decorations and I made the pelican myself - with clay, then I leaf silvered it and added the rhinestones
